Czech Defeat Greece 2 Goals by 6 Minutes

Wroclaw – Czech Republic won their first victory in Group A after throwing Greece 2-1 in the continuation of the group A European Cup 2012 in Municipal Stadium, Poland, Monday (12/06/2012). Czech two goals scored by  Petr Juracek and Vaclav  Pilar. Meanwhile,  Greece Theofanis Gekas reply by early  second half.

 

Targeting the  full points to make up for the 1-4 defeat of Russia, Czech squad send direct attack since the early minutes. Sure enough, the game has been running for three minutes, Jiracek have made the Czech advantage 1-0. After receiving a perfect through pass from Tomas Hubschman, he fired a shot directed into the goal and scored.

Three minutes later, Pilar returned to the Czech supporters cheered after able to change the score to 2-0. Utilizing Theodor Gebre Selassie cross, Vfl Wolfsburg midfielder cheat the ball that was not able to driven out by goalkeeper Kostas Chalkias.

 

Left behind by two goals in just six minutes to make  Greek player mental down. Although try to build an attack, the 2004 European champions were still struggling through the Czech defense. In contrast, the combination of Milan Baros and Tomas Rosicky several times to create dangerous chances in front of the Greek goal.

Five minutes before the end of the first half, Greece could netted  Petr Cech goal through the action of Giorgios Fotakis. However, the goal was disallowed, because he eventually was in the off-side.

 

After halftime, Greece cut the gap through Gekas substitute in the 53rd minute. Giorgios Samaras cross into the penalty box actually not too dangerous. However, goalkeeper Cech catches wasn’t  perfect, so the ball drive to Gekas leg. Without mercy, he then fired the ball into the empty goal.

 

In this round, Greece in control of the game. However, some efforts being made Georgios Samaras and his friends always have a deadlock, because the Czech defense appear quite disciplined. Meanwhile, Czech in second half rely on a quick counter-attack to dismantle the  "Galanolefki" defenses.

 

Greece continued to press until the last minute of the match. However, from a number of opportunities exists,  can not be converted to add goals. Until the referee blew the long whistle, the score of 2-1 was not changed.

 

According to UEFA, Czech controlling 47 percent ball possession and created three chances out of eight experiments. As for the Greeks, they fired  five accurate shots out of seven experiments.
