Seize Second Position Behind Lorenzo

Finish in second place to Rossi is his best record this season. It would also be his best achievement since joining Ducati last season. As known, Rossi last season only once on the podium, in third place. Uniquely, it also occurs in Le Mans circuit.

“I am very pleased. Results are very important to us. I know we have a better chance in this condition (wet) for the podium. So, I race with better concentration,” said Rossi as told Autosport.

Racing incredible throughout the race, Rossi does not mean no problems. His Visor (glass) had clouded  while trying to catch Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso (both from the Tech 3 Yamaha) at the start of the race. “I tried to open it and gradually air entered the helmet, until I could see again. I’m getting closer to Stoner, but Cal and Andrea kept coming. It made me push to the maximum,” explained Rossi.

Meanwhile, Stoner, who before the race announced that he will retire from the final MotoGP event of the year, stating tire problems slowed him in the last few laps.

“When it rains, my rear tire out faster. After that, the rear tires  is always sliding during acceleration,” said Stoner.

Next, the fifth series will be held in Barcelona on 3 June. Racing at home, Lorenzo would be more motivated to win. Although racing on the wet track, the results yesterday showed that the Yamaha M1 is still capable of keeping pace with the Honda RC213V.
