Even Mourinho Can Not Help Liverpool

LIVERPOOL – Liverpool legend, John Barnes, assessing, in a state of economic crisis like now, his  former club will be difficult to get up and compete in the Premier League, unless trained by Rafael Benitez.

Liverpool started with the debt crisis of the club’s owner, Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Both were unable to cope with it and decided to sell the club. So far, Liverpool have not find a buyer.

That things was believed by many spectators to be main causes of poor performance of Liverpool in 2009-2010 season, where they were just able to finish in seventh.

Financial problems and achievements became increasingly tangled. While there is a need to buy top players to raise achievement, the club was unable to fulfill.

According to the news in the UK, the situation has made a number of players worried. Although they are loyal to Liverpool, they are also worried about the future of their career, if persisted at Anfield.

However, not to mention the problem persists, Liverpool gets a great shock, following the club’s decision to fire Benitez. The situation grew even more tangled.

Barnes judge, Liverpool wrongly fired  Benitez. According to him, Benitez is already very familiar with the club and have the ability to build a strong team player with improvised materials.

Furthermore, he said, without Benitez, Liverpool’s almost impossible to achieve a better performance of the season yesterday, even if they are coached by Mourinho, which last season bring Inter Milan  Champions League, Serie A and Italian Cup Winner.

"I want to see Rafa survive. If Liverpool really have no transfer budget, anyone entering will work with existing players," said Barnes.

"If Rafa survive, I believe, Liverpool will finish in a higher position than the seventh position in the next season. However, even Mourinho could not have won the League with Liverpool’s players held today,"

"If there is money, you might think that now is time for new beginnings. However, if no transfer budget, I do not see the manager change will make things better,"

"The assumption is, if there was no money to spend, then there is no top player come. So we must face the situation," said Barnes.

Eriksson Want Benitez Chair

National coach of Côte d’Ivoire, Sven-Goran Eriksson, said he is free to train any team after the World Cup 2010 South Africa. Implicitly, this sounds like an invitation for Liverpool to choose him occupy the chair abandoned by coach Rafael Benitez, recently.

Benitez was fired because only capable of carrying Liverpool finish in  seventh place in the Premier League 2009-2010 season. Management is currently looking for trainers who can restore Liverpool to the position of the elite, "the Big Four."

Seeing the situation, Eriksson later revealed that he is a true Liverpool supporter and is ready to train them, after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"My situation is easy. I have a contract with the Ivory Coast until the end of the World Cup and after that I was free. Hopefully, I’ll sit in coach seats somewhere in the world,"

"Premier League is the best league in the world. Everyone wants to be a manager in the Premier League," he added.

Eriksson himself was no stranger to English football environment. In the period 2001-2008, he once coached the English national team and Manchester City.
